Iran, Greece stress political will for expanding ties

TEHRAN, Dec. 18 (MNA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Zarif and Greek Alternate FM for European Affairs stressed political will for expanding cooperation between the two countries.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held a meeting with Greek Alternate Foreign Minister for European Affairs George Katrougkalos in Tehran on Sunday.

During the meeting, the two sides conferred on bilateral ties, relations with the European Union, as well as regional and international issues.

Zarif deemed Iran-Greece ties progressive, stressing that there is good will and political resolve on both sides for developing bilateral relations in all political and economic fields.

The Greek diplomat, for his part, highlighted the significance and key role of the Islamic Republic in region, and underscored his country’s firm determination for deepening relations with Iran.

The Greek Alternate Foreign Minister for European Affairs George Katrougkalos is in Tehran for taking part in the second round of political consultations between Iran and Greece.
